Left Field "Molly Maguire" Vidalia Mills Shearling Lined Denim Jacket
Left Field NYCIt's finally here! The shearling-lined 14oz Vidalia Mills Selvedge Denim Jacket. Named "The Molly Maguire" after the tough Irish immigrants that were coal miners in Northeastern Pennsylvania in the post-American Civil War era.
This jacket is made from the same denim as the Left Field Vidalia Mills Greaser, using denim from the only operating denim mill in the USA. This is a new piece of American manufacturing history that honors a history past.
The Molly Maguires were an early Union-style secret society created to fight for the rights of coal miners and their working conditions by any means necessary. Many pit bosses received coffin notices warning them that there would be significant bodily harm done to them if their needs weren't met. The Pinkerton Detective Agency was called in to infiltrate them, which they eventually did and hung 10 members of the the Molly Maguires in 1877. This jacket is dedicated to their sacrifice and commitment to the rights and safety of American coal miners and all American workers.
