Knickerbocker Brushed Flannel CPO OvershirtKnickerbocker
A CPO shirt is becoming a staple in our closets lately - somewhere between a heavy flannel shirt and a chore jacket, the CPO shirt's design comes from that which was originally issued to US Navy Chief Petty Officers dating back to the 1930's.
The Knickerbocker Brushed Flannel CPO Overshirt is made from 100% heavyweight cotton and really steps it up. The cotton fabric is in leu of the traditional wool construction - but trust us, Knickerbocker really has our backs here in avoiding that relentlessly itchy discomfort from an old school wool CPO shirt. The brushed flannel finishing gives the shirt a wool-like appearance but an extremely soft hand even though the fabric itself starts off somewhat rigid.
Made by the Star Denim factory in Porto, Portugal, a small, family owned business employing less than 20 workers, this piece has an excellent attention to detail in it's construction and build quality. If the wool originals from the WWII era are still hanging on today, then this hard wearing piece from Knickerbocker will be around for generations.
Running slightly large, shop owner Andy wears a Small.
